I used this filter as a replacement for my Kenmore refrigerator and it fit perfectly. I will no longer be paying the outrageous prices for the same filter at the "name" stores. This carbon filter works to remove chlorine and other contaminants such as rust, corrosion, lead, mercury and sediment to name a few. What I found in my research of quality for this filter is that it is pretty basic. There are different levels that filters are rated at according to what they remove and this one states NSF 42 certified on it which is lower than some high end filters. That said, it was easy to install and after flushing it a bit, the water and ice taste great. I smell no odors or odd taste and I am a huge ice eater so would know if the taste was off. This has become my filter of choice and as long as it holds up and does its job, I will be a return customer.
